April 23, 2008 - Telerama News
We are still working to straighten everything out. We believe all websites should be up and running. If your site is not up or isn't functioning please contact us and let us know.
The mail server seems to be unrecoverable. We were able to move the accounts to a new server. At this time we are unable to access users home directories from the mailservers, but we will try to recover what we can. You should be able to pop mail and send email. You may need to tell your mail client that your outgoing mailserver requires authentication. If you had an email address other than @telerama.com please contact us if you beleive you are not properly receiving mail so we can go over your account and how it should be setup. We will continue to monitor the email for unforseen problems.
Unfortunately, we will not be able to restore DSL service as is. We will need to move your DSL from Telerama's network to ours. Static IPs will still be available. This should only take a few days to get you back up once the order is placed. We will begin contacting customers to begin this process as soon as possible, but please feel free to contact us to get the process started.
We sincerely apologize for the frustration and inconvenience, but please understand we are doing everything we can to get everything working again as quickly as possible.
Thanks~ Nidhog

February 13, 2007 - URGENT -
There is an email circulating in the wild that appears to be from NIdhog asking our customers to upload a PHP file to their website to protect their site and meet security requirements. We will NEVER send unsolicited attachments to our customers. Also, any updates to your site would be done while working with you. Please disregard this email and promptly dispose of the offending attachment. Feel free to send us message headers from the original email if you receive one. We are working to track down where this email is coming from and what the PHP script actually does.
Thank you for your cooperation and understanding. Feel free to contact us with any questions or concerns regarding this matter or any other suspicious communications.

Here is a copy of the spoofed email. It is pretty convincing:

Subject: Hosting Regular Security Maintenance

Dear Nidhog Inc. valued Members

Regarding our new security regulations, as a part of our yearly maintenance we have provided a security guard script in the attachment.

So, to secure your websites, please use the attached file and (for UNIX/Linux Based servers) upload the file "webguard.php" in: "./public_html" or (for Windows Based servers) in: "./wwwroot" in your site.

If you do not know how to use it, you can use the following instruction:

For Unix/Linux or Windows based websites that use PHP/CGI/PERL/ASP:
1) Download the attachment named "webguard.php"
2) Login to your site Control panel.
3) Open "File Manager" window.
4) Go through "Public_html" or "htdocs" (for UNIX/Linux Based servers), but for Windows Based server, please Go through "wwwroot" directory.
5) Choose "Upload Files"
6) Upload the file "webguard.php"
7) Check its URL too "http://www.yoursite.com/webguard.php", if it is ok

Thank you for using our services and products. We look forward to providing you with a unique and high quality service.

Best Regards

Nidhog Inc.
